About me

I am a Software Engineer with a focus on Web Applications, with the ability to work on both frontend and backend. I am very passionate when it comes to creating web applications and APIs that take into consideration the experience of each stakeholder.
I strongly believe that the best user experiences are supported by a developer experience that allows us to focus on the task at hand, and in the meantime, pay close attention to several key aspects, such as performance, testing, maintainability and readability of the project, and allowing the project to grow and evolve in a sustainable manner.
Currently, I am working at Mercado Libre as a Senior Software Engineer, using technologies such as React, Node JS, Redux, Webpack and Sass . As for the backend, we work with several frameworks such as Java8, Grails and Node JS, developing applications that support a microservices architecture hosted on AWS. We also have a strong focus on performance, using the several techniques such as Service Workers, Lazy Loading, code splitting to provide our users with the best and fastest experience they can have.
Moreover, I love to be update-to-date with the latest technologies and I really enjoy to learn and grow as an engineer. I am always looking for different angles and ways to develop applications, which is one of the reasons I created this personal site, in order to learn and develop new things, such as creating a Backend API en GO, latest React features and hosting both backend and frontend on Google Cloud Platform.

Work Experiences

Master of Science in Computer Information Systems

Concentration in Web Application Development

Boston University
July 2018 - PRESENT

The MS in Computer Information Systems concentration in Web Application Development introduces the fundamental concepts of web applications, providing a comprehensive coverage of both client-side and server-side development. The latest topics in JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, jQuery, AngularJS, PHP, and Node.js are widely covered.

Students also learn, and work with, cutting-edge technologies for building desktop and mobile web applications, such as Ruby on Rails, AJAX, Flex, and Google Web Toolkit (GWT). Students create real-world web application projects that also involve interacting with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

Software Engineer

ORT University
March 2010 - September 2015

Graduated from ORT University as a professional capable of proposing innovative technological solutions, with the ability to adapt to the constant change in the IT industry and integrate into multidisciplinary teams at an international level.

ORT graduates can perform as:

  • Software creators
  • Independent consultants
  • Project leaders
  • System managers

The balance between theory and practice, the intensive use of laboratories and the resolution and implementation of real cases from the first semesters of the course assure ORT students a solid formation that balances the theory, the practical application of knowledge and the use of the technology.

The dynamics of the classes is characterized by a participatory way of studying, privileging dialogue and debate. We had personalized and fluent attention with the teachers thanks to the fact that the classes are small.

In addition, we had flexible study hours, consultations with teachers, assistants and professors from different areas, which I also had the experience to be on the other side as a teacher.
